Modern-day Gospel

Jerusalem: (CNN): Sources are telling Anderson Cooper that there is a strange wedding going on in Cana this week. Sarah, the daughter of Perez and Milcah, is marrying Judah, the son of Shimron and Ruth - both natives of Cana. Many participants are talking about how the wine ran out on Wednesday, but the replacement wine was the best they had ever tasted. Then the story gets even wilder. Witnesses are saying the wine came from water! No, they are saying it with a straight face, and don't appear to be drunk, either! Not just one person is spreading this tale. Many are saying they were eyewitnesses to the "miracle". Joshua, the carpenter turned rabbi, from Nazareth, was there. He is the son of Mary, one of the planners of the wedding. According to several witnesses, Joshua directed the employees of Goldmith Catering to fill the punch bowls with water and take a glass to the M.C. When Asher tasted it, he was astounded! "Phenomenal" is what he was quoted as saying. Then Joshua's friends started telling about his baptism at the Jordan River, and the story goes up another notch on the "out there" gauge. One James - the son of Zebedee - told of "the spirit of God" descending after Joshua was baptised by John the Baptiser. And then a voice from "heaven" said something like "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." I warned you it was wild, someone call the tabloids - quick!

Jerusalem: (AP): "Citing anonymous sources, the Jerusalem Post is reporting a sensational experience on the Sea of Galilee last evening. Jesus and His friends were in a boat leaving Capernaum at dusk. Reportedly, a fast-moving storm arose on the sea after dark. The boat was taking on water and, in spite of everything the experienced boatmen could do, it was about to go under. Then Jesus suddenly stood up in the boat and yelled into the wind. He shouted in a loud voice, "Quiet, settle down!" Almost instantaneously, though it hasn't been independently verified, the water was said to have turned smooth as glass and the winds died down. This appears to be another one of those incredible, but unverifiable stories that seems to follow wherever the so-called "Son of Man", from Nazareth, goes.
